1978 Alpina B7 Turbo Coupé (E24)

The 14th example from a total production run of 153 units built.

Completely built from new by Alpina in Buchloe, body delivered directly from Karmann in Osnabruck to Alpina along with the engine block shipped directly from BMW to receive the Alpina treatment. Finished in Graphite Grey with Silver Alpina decals

Comprehensively restored in 2005 thru 09, standing in exemplary condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The car has covered 111,000 kilometres over 2 previous owners.

A complete Alpina dossier accompanies the car showing all documents and certificates, as well as the original bill of purchase.

 

Alpina Specification:

Engine block delivered directly from BMW to Alpina at which point work commenced installing the special cylinder head, pistons, 300 degree camshaft and the turbo system where boost is adjustable from the interior. The engineering work performed yielded 347 HP and a top speed of 265 Km/h making it a period Autobahn missile.

All of the distinctive and unique Alpina interior details and changes are in place and have survived the test of time. The special Scheel seats (23 kilos lighter than original) covered in bespoke Alpina fabric are in excellent condition as are the steering wheel and carpets, all unique to this model. Additional factory instrumentation includes boost pressure and rear differential temperature gauges.
